About Me
Hi there! My name is Stephanie Lovdokken, and I'm thrilled to welcome you to this space dedicated to gifted education. With a passion for helping gifted learners thrive, I've dedicated my career to understanding and supporting the unique needs of these incredible students.
My journey began 25 years ago in the classroom, where I discovered my calling to work with bright, curious minds. This passion led me to pursue a Master's degree in Curriculum Instruction and Design, with a specialization in Talented and Gifted education (TAG) through Pacific University. Along with teaching, for the past 22 years, I've served as a mentor teacher for several Universities, guiding and supporting new educators in developing effective strategies for gifted students. This work has been incredibly rewarding, as it allows me to share my knowledge and help more students receive the education they deserve.
Over the past seventeen years, I’ve had the privilege of working directly with district-wide gifted programming. Throughout this time I helped to revise district TAG procedures, provided training for TAG contacts so they could support the teachers to inspire and challenge TAG students at their schools, and most recently worked to design and implement procedures around equitable identification of TAG students. I currently work as a K-12 Instructional Coach, District TAG Coordinator, and District Testing Coordinator.
My experience extends beyond the classroom. I coach high school tennis along with competing in USTA tournaments throughout our region. I am currently the Board Chair for the Springfield Education Foundation, a board member of the Oregon Association for Talented and Gifted (OATAG), and volunteer for the my current districts education association. Also, I volunteer as a transitional trainer with EAC, Early Alert Canines, a nonprofit organization in Concord, California that raises and places Diabetic Alert Dogs. Huey, my diabetic alert dog, is a product of this amazing organization and helps me train other dogs to be placed in their forever home.
"Giftedness is not an elitist concept, but a recognition that every child possesses unique strengths and talents that deserve to be nurtured and celebrated."

My Why
My professional life is deeply intertwined with my personal one. I am a proud parent of two twice-exceptional (2e) TAG students who are both thriving at Oregon State University in their respective career choices. This personal experience has given me a unique perspective on the challenges and triumphs that gifted learners and their families face. I understand firsthand the importance of finding the right resources and support to help these students reach their full potential. Both of my kids needed different supports and pathways to allow them to reach their fullest potential. As a teacher, I recognized the importance of fostering a strong bond between the school and family in order to guide their path.
Whether you're a parent, a teacher, or a gifted student yourself, I'm here to provide resources, insights, and a supportive community. Let's work together to create a world where every gifted student can flourish.
